Newest Refinery Attack Reveals 'No Safe Locations in the Russian Deep Rear'
Ukraine's drones have struck Russia's oil processing plant in the city of Ufa, situated around 1,400 kilometers from Ukraine, resulting in detonations and a blaze, per a source in the Ukrainian SBU.
This represents the 3rd Ukrainian security service long-range attack in Bashkortostan in the last month. Those operations illustrate that there are no secure zones in the deep rear of the Russian state.
Ukrainian President Appeals to Trump to Broker Truce in the Conflict
President Zelenskyy appealed to Donald Trump to mediate a ceasefire in Ukraine over a telephone conversation on the weekend.
"When a hostilities can be stopped in a single area, then surely additional conflicts can be ended as well, covering the Russian aggression," Zelenskyy said, hailing Trump's "remarkable" Gaza truce proposal and requesting the US president to compel the Moscow into talks.
Russian Assaults Kill Casualties in the Country
Moscow's assaults on Ukraine killed at least 5 individuals on Saturday and disrupted electricity to sections of the southern Odesa area, as stated by Ukrainian officials.
Two civilians were killed inside a religious building in Kostyantynivka when it was struck, as reported by regional officials.
In Russia's frontier area of the Belgorod region, a vehicle operator was fatally wounded by a drone assault, according to municipal sources.
Energy Recovery Operations in the Capital
Efforts carried on on Saturday to recover electricity in the Ukrainian capital, after Russian attacks.
Electricity had been returned to more than 800,000 inhabitants by Saturday and the largest utility provider said the primary work to restore power was complete though certain disruptions remained.
Air Defence Actions and UAV Interceptions
The Ukrainian defense forces neutralized 54 out of 78 UAVs from Russia launched targeting the country overnight, the aerial defense command announced on the weekend.
The Russian defense officials said it shot down 42 enemy UAVs from Ukraine over Russian territory.
Cuba Denies Claims of Deploying Forces to Ukraine
Havana on Saturday denied US claims it has sent troops to engage in the hostilities, while stating the government "lack exact data about citizens of Cuba" involved "voluntarily" or "as part of the armed units of both sides".
The government department in the capital stated 26 Cuban citizens had been sentenced to jail sentences varying between 5 to 14 years for mercenary activity since last September when information spread of Cubans being deployed to the front in Ukraine.
Surrender Initiative Program Reports Data on Cuban Involvement
The program, a state project that promotes adversaries to surrender, said in May: "We reliably know the names and personal details of one thousand and twenty-eight individuals who signed contracts with the Moscow's troops in recently."
The Cuban authorities said of Cubans who might be participating: "It is irrefutable that not a single one have the encouragement, allegiance, or consent of the Cuban authorities for their activities."
