Renowned Performer The actor Pat Finn, Known For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
US performer Pat Finn, who appeared in beloved TV shows including "Friends", "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has died aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in LA this Monday after undergoing cancer treatment since 2022, per reports.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his relatives shared in a statement.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable TV Career
His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on several well-known programs, including:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was part of a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote on social media.
Finn is survived by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
